Ambassadors (television series)

Ambassadors is a programme that aired in 2013 in the UK, which is a comedy drama about the activities of a British Embassy located in the fictional Central Asian state of Tazbekistan.

Tazbekistan

One of the themes of the first programme was the national Tazbek reverence for the ibex, a creature which accordingly features on the arms and flag of the state. The flag is seen several times through the programme and its appearance and indeed the general iconography and script used throughout the programme, all lend it a strong authenticity. Here are some screen shots from the programme:

The opening credits feature an animation tracking across the planet from the UK to Tazbekistan – the destination is marked by the national flag – note the location of the white stripe here.
